HBO, FX (I'm sure he could come up with a show that'd fit their brand) would be good arenas. As are comics books. However, I think he'd also be well served by ... and this is going to sound crazy, but I'm convinced it'd be amazing ... teaming up with Stephen King and show-running a series with him. | King's brand-name plus ideas and joy for discovering stories coupled with Whedon's dialogue, passion for pushing television (and his ability to rein in King's weakness for the ridiculous), and their joint love of the big emotional moments ... you put all those things together and you've got a kick-arse ABC (or maybe NBC, if it's feeling bold) series on your hands. Also mini-series or online streaming = pretty awesome arenas. If any creator is going to get his next series pre-funded by their fans, it's Whedon. Like SyFy or whatever it's called these days. Or the people who did Veronica Mars. He has the fans to make that work.
